We have a Xerox VersaLink C405DN MFP and recently it has caused an issue with our business land line. This line is a shared voice and fax line. For some reason the C405DN assumes that any call on this line is a fax and tries to answer it after one ring. Previously it would autodetect if there was an incoming fax and only pickup if valid fax was detected. We also tired changing it to manual fax receive. When we do this the line will ring three times and then it quits and the call is hung up on. If we disconnect the C405DN from the phone line this issue stops and the phone rings as it normally would. Is this the result of a recently updated firmware or is this a hardware issue with the fax card?
There is no setting for how many times the phone rings before it will try to answer a fax.
Machine firmware is 68.67.91
Any advice would be much appreciated.
