I opened the printer app this morning and got a message that I needed to install an update. I installed the update, and now I can no longer scan. Scanning was working fine before. I can still print. When I try to scan something from either the doc feeder or the flatbed, it says "an unknown error has occurred."
I have tried reinstalling the Scan driver, restarting the printer and my computer. no change.
Thank you in advance for any help.
Any thoughts on this? The update I installed was XrxSetup_DesktopApp_x64.msi
I have tried uninstalling it but it does not fis the problem.
I have also tried installing XeroxScanExperience_7.4.43.0_x64.msi
Does not fix problem.
Hello Michelle,
What type of scanning are you trying to perform? Scan to folder? Scan to email? Are you getting any fault codes associated with the error message?
I would like to scan to folder, but haven't even gotten that from.
I am initiating the scan from my PC (initiating from the printer has never worked).
I got to Printers and Scanners in System Settings.
I choose the printer (Xerox Workstation 6515)
I click Printer App
I click Scan a Document
It says Error - Check hte Device User Interface for more information
Th deivce UI gives this code:
062-380
Hi,
The scanner of your device is defective (fault code 062-380) and need to be replaced.

Same problem for me but the scanner is effective when I use the WSD driver. IBut with the WIA driver I have a message that the scanner is not connected. I have 2 computers (both w10, 64) and the same error occurs on both after last w10 update
Which one is the WSD driver? Can you post a link?
Thank you!
If you could post that link, I'd apprecite it.
I tried installing the driver with Xerox Smart Start from this page, but no luck - I don't know of another basic driver from Xerox:
https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/product/workcentre-6515/downloads?platform=win10x64&language=en
I looked up the error code. It said it needed to be cleaned:
https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/article/en/2056422.html
I cleaned it according to the instructions, but still the same problem.
I think it is a software issue because the scanning stopped working immediately after I installed the software update.
