Need scanning help with Phaser 8560MFP

Hello all,

We have a new 8560MFP that we cannot scan to a PC from. The 8560 is connected to a Windows XP PC via USB cable, and it is not on our network. The PC recognizes the copier and has installed all the drivers from the CD. But when we scan (pdf or tif)  to the public folder and open the scan utility on the PC we do not see any documents. How do we access the public folder (hard drive) on the 8560MFP. The documentation that came with this unit is useless.

Hi,

The User Guide may be of some help in the section "Retrieving Scanned Images" it tells you how to use the scan utility to either retrieve scans via email or by copy to folder, or even direct import into an application.

The only way to access the public folder is through the printer's built in web interface called CentreWare IS.  In order to access this web interface the printer will need to be connected to the network and will need a valid IP address.
