Your workflow is completely covered by simply setting up Workflows to the folders so you don't need to browse
Thanks, Joe, that helps a little, but really just replaces two steps with two different steps. I'll give xerox a call and bug them about it. I realize they build this stuff with security in mind for large offices, but they should consider that their products end up in small offices as well, where options to override some of those security features would be very useful.
Can you not simply select the scan location and remove it?
Then add a new destination?
I have 6 VersaLink products and all have this option, there is no need to leave the scan screen on mine like you are doing.
You do have to start from the beginning search screen though and login to any PC you choose, which is intentional, because other wise the printer would simply always stay logged into any PC you connected to, which leaves un-needed network traffic, un-needed port activity and could cause security issue (person behind you know has write privileges to your PC)
If you want Xerox to change how it works, you need to call them to submit a FER (Feature Enhancement Request)
It is simply a request though, not a guarantee, you do the request officially, and if enough other people make the same request, they may allocate resources to implement it.
We just installed our new Versalink c405 yesterday and while it's great to be able to navigate to and scan directly to network folders and subfolders, it's frustrating that once you scan to a particular folder, you have to return to the home screen, reset and reenter login credentials before you can scan to a different sub-folder. The initial navigation screen allows you to go back and forth between folders and sub-folders, but once you hit SCAN, there doesn't appear to be anyway to go back to the navigation screen. Am I missing something? I hope zerox can fix this in a future firmware update.
