Outgoing fax on WorkCentre 6605 issue

When i go to use onhook dialing to send a fax it wont let me free dial a fax number unless it has been pre-programmed into machine!

It comes up with message stating " Operation disallowed due to the misdirected fax protection feature"

What am i doing wrong please?
