the best way and also the easiest is using the ftp protocol, instead of smb... esspecially with windows 7 devices
maybe you can contact your IT guy for the setup of this?
I have Xerox Phaser 6180MFP-D printer with Fax, Scan and copy function. The Printer, Fax and copy is working properly from any place. I am trying to scan document from Network computer but I unable to setup scan function. Can someone help me how to setup scan function in network computer. The IP of printer is 10.1.10.44 and computer 10.1.10.25. The operation system of computer is Windows 7 Professional.
Thanks. I adjusted for the maximum and it works great.
Hi dcrane37,
The Phaser 6180MFP will allow attachment sizes between 50 KB and 16,384 KB in size. This can be adjusted to whatever size you prefer within this range, depending on what your email server will support. If the machine creates a scan document larger that the maximum size allowed per this setting, it will split it up into multiple emails.
Here is a link to a KB entry which has the steps for adjusting the maximum email size...
(EDIT) Unfortunately, the forum doesn't like my KB link for some reason, if you go to the support knowledge base and search for "How to Modify the Maximum E-mail Size Setting", it should be the first tip in the list.
Hope this helps!
We have a Phaser 6180MFP printer that we're using to scan and e-mail PDF's.
Is there a limit on the printer on how many pages or the sizes that the PDF's can be?
If scan more than a 15 pages the printer is breaking them up into multiple PDF's
and e-mailing them that way. We would like them to be in 1 PDF. I checked the printer but did not see a setting to adjust his.
