Re: Phaser 6180 SMB Scanning Setup

Hello,

assuming what I state below is correct then I you can check the following steps

Acccording to the configuration you describe I assume your file structure would be:

\\computer_Hostname\Scans\Scans

I would check the following:

  • Remove the path "Scans" and do your tests without it.Add it in the end, after your sure it works to the share folder.
  • Change the computer hostname to ip_address (Check DNS settings on the xerox device)
  • Maqui sure the Scans folder is shared (With the shared name being "Scans", add the user to sharing/Security permissions with full access.
  • Lower/Disable you firewall and/or Active anti-virus for a test time
  • If you are using a Domain user, try with a local.

Phaser 6180 SMB Scanning Setup

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I'm having a heck of a time trying to setup scanning on my Phaser 6180. I receive an error 016-783 after the sheet goes through the document feeder.

My settings are below in Centreware:

Server Type: SMB

Server Address: Computer Name

Port# 139

Login name - Login Name for Admin (full rights)

Password - Password

Share Name: Scans

Server Path: Scans

I bet its a simple fix.  I've done this before but it escapes me how I did it the last time!

Thanks for your help!!!
