Re: Phaser 6180MFP/D slow to scan to SMB share

Thanks for the suggestion.  I tried both a different port and a new cat5 cable, saw no improvement.  Other functions are rather quick, as are our network & server.

For the time being, I'm going to set the default resolution to 150, which seems to take 20+ seconds per page (still somewhat painful if a large scan is performed).  The resulting file looks better than expected for that resolution.

Any other recommendations are still welcome.

Phaser 6180MFP/D slow to scan to SMB share

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I'm setting-up a Phaser 6180MFP/D to scan to a 2008 server (not R2) share via SMB, and it's working well, but it's painfully slow to write the file, and until it's finished, the device won't accept print jobs.  It takes roughly 1 minute per page to create the file.  The MFP is set at 300DPI, I've tried TIFF and PDF formats.  I've added 1GB RAM to the MFP, but that only seemed to help minimally.  Can anyone think of something else I can do to speed-up this process?
