Are you referring to the assembly with part# PL11.1.1? Is the scanner controller board affected? Does it also need to be replaced?
And where can I purchase the scanner assembly?
Unfortunately you must replace the entire scanner. There is no part number just for the CCD.
I have a Xerox Phaser 6180MFP/N multi-function color laser printer with an image scanning problem. After working great for years, the scanner has started separating out the red channel such that red and cyan (opposite of red) components appear about a centimeter apart vertically on images. Strangely, this only happens on the left sides of pages, and only after 3-5 scans. It happens both with the flatbed scanner and the automatic document feeder. I cleaned the scanner glass, top and bottom sides. The more time I spend scanning after turning on the unit, the more the red/cyan separation problem manifests, to the point where a cyan shadow of the image will appear about a centimeter above where it should be, with a red tinge left in its place. The progressive nature of the problem suggests that it might be heat related, but it's confined to the left side of the page. I also thought that maybe the sensor is misaligned with the glass and sort of tilted in one direction, but then I'd expect a consistent effect for every single scan.
Is there any way to repair this without obtaining a new sensor? I am fairly certain the part number is 675K56481, but I don't need the whole scanner assembly—just a sensor that doesn't have this problem.
I also wonder about a white border that appears when scanning on the left and top edges of the page, which is especially noticeable when scanning non-white documents. It's about 10-20 pixels wide at 300dpi, and it seems like the corner of the page is misaligned with the glass or something to that effect.
