You can only login when prompted at the device when changing a thing that requires it.
You can only do the address book though when on the webpage, or from the tool I linked to directly in my post.
As for the admin account, it is simply admin with all lower case and no password, unless somebody there changed it. If that is the case the only way to fix that without having the new account info is to wipe the device, This will delete everything on the device and put it back to factory defaults, so your current address book and everything else will be lost entirely. Which is done at the control panel via System > Admin Menu > OK > Network Settings > OK > Initialize NVM > OK > Yes
By far your best option is to just download and install the tool from my initial post.
Hi Joe,
I tried both Internet Explorer and Chrome and they both didn't work. How can I login as the admin on the device? Is it possible to edit the email address book on the device itself?
Thanks,
Emily
Anything the CD Rom ever had is available as a free download. The Editor for example is here.
That said, if you can login as the admin at the device, but not on its web interface, the issue is more likely to be your web browser.
Chrome and Microsoft Edge (Win 10 only) do not work correctly with many Xerox devices, password fields often don't actually get applied, which causes a lot of confusion.
Hi there,
I want to edit the email address book on our Xerox Phaser 6180MFP. I would like to delete some email addresses and add in some new ones. I have gone onto the printer's IP address and tried to edit it there but it says our login information is wrong. I recently called Xerox support to reset our username and password so I know it isn't wrong. Is there a way I can edit the address book on the printer itself?
I'm aware of this Address Book Editor but we no longer have the software CD-ROM to install it.
Thanks,
Emily
