Our VersLink C605 prints well--fairly saturated blacks and colors. But if you copy a printout, the same blacks and colors are noticeable lighter and lower contrast. Seems to be all colors. We have good levels of toners, a recent transer belt (I did the full maintenance kit) and drums are all 70-80%. I've done the advanced color calibration and set the density to +1.
I have good blacks when I print but gray
when I copy. Ideas to try?
Thanks in advance
Yes, sorry for the lighting. Copy is on top of the original. Harder to see on the photo than in person.
First step that I would do is clean the glass on the scanner. Most scanners have the Full paper glass, where you place the paper, and if you are using the feeder, you'll see a second thin glass (normally about an inch wide). Clean this as well.
A software cloth should do the trick. The glass could just be dirty. I have seen this before. If its still coming out blotchy when Scan to print, It might be the scanner itself.
I hear you. Fortunately the peerson who uses it more then anyone uses alcohol optical cleaner tissues to clean AND disinfect the glass(es). There's not a door handle in the place that hasn't been sanitized within an inch of its life.
LOL .. I have a couple of users that are the same way when cleaning the glass on the printers.
I am not good with the versalink printers, I don't know if there is a setting for the scanning DPI settings. Something to check before placing a service call for a technician.
