Problems receiving email from a digitalized document from xerox workcentre 7425

Hi. I'm not sure this is the right board for posting situations related to emailing from the xerox printer, but i think any of you might help me.
The problem is that i can send an email from the printer to my personal email (hotmail) but i can not send the email completely to an email address belonging to a domain. The printer is also in the domain, and i can print and send email except for the domain email adrress. Well anytime i check the status of sending email via the printer to the mail adress of domain it says it has completed sending the email but when i check if it was received in the mailbox it shows a daemon notice failure mail statting the error: 550 5.7.1 sender id (Pra) not Permitted. I even researched for this error in the internet and i found out it was related to the sender id filtering that might blocking the email sent by the printer. I went to the server in exchange system manager and then on message delivery properties and there's nothing there restricting in the any of the tab filters of those options, however i did notice it wasnt assigned to any ip adrress either. Here in the domain all email accounts are capable of sending any mail to the other computers on the network of the domain. The problem is really the receiving of any email sent from the printer to be accepted. As for the server here i noticed it has no sender id filtering actvive nor in the general tab of message delivery properties has any options of adding ip address to sender id filtering, it is all greyd out. The server has windows server 2003 small business edition with no service pack installed. I still think it might be something in the system configuration page of the printer to be more configured, but i'm not sure what it really is. The big question is Which one of the two is really restricting the email sent by the printer? Is there any suggestions you might give to resolve this problem?

Please answer as breef as possible and thank you for any help you might give.

Hi Shadowmaster26,

Please try again, I am able to access the page from a computer outside of the Xerox domain so it may be available now. We are aware that Xerox Driver and Downloads is currently experiencing intermittent issues.  We are working to resolve that issue.  But you should be able to access the solutions.

Thanks,

Hi.

It's been a while since my last reply, i apologize for that.

Well i tried the solutions that were given me in the last link but i didn't sucessfully performed the steps in the last two solutions.

This time i had print a configuration report of the printer and made a pdf file of it. I also want to send the pdf file and the detailed error i receive in the domain mailbox to any of you who might help me. Can anyone tell me how i send to any of you this file?

Thanks in advance for any reply you might make and i'm waiting for a reply as soon as possible.

Re: Problems receiving email from a digitalized document from xerox workcentre 7425

Hi Shadowmaster,
I believe the best way is to host it externaly.

In regards to the actual problem, the device only telnet the specified server sending the message this way.
I assume you are using your exchange server for outgoing messaging. Also, you can sucessfully sent emails externaly to you exchange organization, which makes me thinking that the issue is internally with some rules on exchange..

1. Make sure your domain is setup on TCP/IP, section on the printer web.page
2. Make sure you are using a valid email address, preferential with a mailbox associated with.
3.From a pc on the same subnet as the printer attempt to telnet the email server, authenticate, send email within telnet. When doing it always use same information as saved on the printer (server IP address:port; username format, etc)

Which exchange are you using?
Rgds,
Rui

Re: Problems receiving email from a digitalized document from xerox workcentre 7425

Well thanks for the reply rui.

The exchange server i'm using is exchange server 2003. The version of the exchange system: 6.5.6944.0.

The tcp/ip page within the web page of the printer as the domain associated with the printer which is fmassarelos.local.

Here's something i noticed about the dns configuration: has not a check on obtaining the dns server adress automatically. I dont know really if that will solve the problem, but i can try if you can say that it is safe to actually change that setting.

I printed a configuration report of the printer and converted to pdf. I could send you the configuration report that would be more easy for troubleshooting the problem.

About the telnet solution i tried in a computer that is conected to the domain but i couldn´t finish all the stepd of telnet. Or im not providing the true information for telnet or something else is wrong. The server computer has some conflits stating the smtp server is not configured or something , but i actually dont know it thats its true because everyone in the domain can actually send and receive email from the exchange server in outlook and even the printer can send email to any email address outside the domain but to the email address of the domain the email is not accepted. The printer has the machine email address geral@jf-massarelos.pt and the computer of the domain that receives general mails has also geral@jf-massarelos.pt as the email address that receives through pop3 but using an account permitted by the server.

The domain address and mailbox is correct which is @jf-massarelos.pt also in the configuration of smtp this information is correct.

The printer in the begining could sent the email to the domain but something may have changed in the server when someone tried to access externally via remote access and the old administrator of the server blocked the access and since then they weren't unable to send emails from the printer to any emaill address of the domain.

The problem is the administrator is gone and people around here have not the information about what changed in the server and that´s why its being difficult to solve this situation.

I'm also thinking that something in the printer needs some configuration or the exchange server might need something to be changed the problem is i dont know exactly what to change.

This is why i think it would be better if i send you the configuration of the printer and mail failure notice. the you might see what´s should be configured and what might not.

Again thanks for the reply and im expecting for an answer from you soon. Thank you very much for the help.

Re: Problems receiving email from a digitalized document from xerox workcentre 7425

Hi, again ruic-xerox.

Now Something interesting i checked. I was able to using all the telnet steps from the link that cheryl provided. using telnet to conect to the server is possible and i was able to send mail with a test subject to a email address from the domain, but i couldnt send to another email from the same domain. The thing is the email address that i sucessfully sent the mail from the telnet solution it has configured in outlook an exhange server association in the account of the email address but the other mail adress have not that asociation in outlook. Is that whre the true problem lies in?

Also i've tried usint telnet to conect directly to the printer using its ip addres and its port but the conecction wasnt sucessfull.

What can you say about this?

Thanks in advance for any reply you might give.
