Re: Prompt user for file name - scanning to server

You can't do it, the machine scans with whatever name is the default, and adds on to it automatically if the name exists already in the scan location.

The printer is entirely incapable of prompting you to change the name of the scan. It can be done manually on the Filing Options tab.

Beyond that, if they are standardized names, you can create templates with those names, so if the code was Jeff-62674 you could create a template with that name, going to the correct location, and set the file name to that inside the template here

So every scan would be called Jeff-62674 and the machine would add the 001, 002.... to the end, or whatever you had put in the custom filed.

Prompt user for file name - scanning to server

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I have a WC 7556.

I have configured the workflow scanning to scan, and save the result  to a file on our server.

The problem I need to solve is how to prompt for a custom name for that file.  The file name needs to be say, a custom file identification code, say M79866.

I can see where the custom fields are dates, job time, etc., but the user needs to be prompted for the above identification code.

Is there anyway to do that?

Thanks,

Captainkey
