Thanks for the input.
Yes, probably that I have to contact the ITpeople so that they set up the shared folder. I have created it on my machine and trying to access it using my credentials, it should work, but apparently, it is not!
I cannot find this "network scan feature" you mentioned.
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for the reply,
The link you provided appears to be useful, somewhat... not sure. I mean, I am trying to use the "Scan To" feature, not "Scan to FTP" (I did find that page last week, but did not really read it as it was written for scanning to FTP...).
However, you did mention the Document path. I was under the impression that this was an optional field when setting up the "Scan To" profile, in other words, if left blank, scans will go to the root folder of the shared folder. Is that correct? I tried writing "\\compName\sharedFolderName" but this generated a different error: "Failure transferring job to network server." The Report sheet indicated that it was trying to write to "\\\\compName\\sharedFolderName". Why was each "\" doubled?
Another poster wrote about NTFS rights on the network, I might have to contact the IT people where I work, maybe they need to set up the shared folder. I did it myself, but probably the rights I have givent to the folder are being overidden by User Policies on the Network...
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
Original post from Fabio: "remote lock means the machine cant create the temp lock dir or cant remove it, it must be somthing with an security issue".
Set up Share, and grant share/ntfs permissions for the account. Also, under network scan feature and find the "update template list" (I think it's tab 5 )and press it.
Hi JGM,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please review the solution for setting up Scan to FIle. Make you that you have included the full path to the scan folder in the provided field and see if that will clear the error. If this does not help please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
I need help setting up the "Scan To" option. I have set up my profile as per the image attached.
However, whenI try scanning, I get the "Remote Directory Lock Failed" Status Detail on the printed Confirmation Report. My "Scans" folder is a netowrk share, I seeit liste as such under the network shared folder.
The share is on a Windows 7 machine and part of a coporate domain (NA).
What else do I need to set up?
Thanks.
