You can remove security from an open PDF if you have the permissions to do so. If the PDF is secured with a server-based security policy, only the policy author or a server administrator can change it.

Open the PDF, then select Tools > Protect > Encrypt > Remove Security.

Your options vary depending on the type of password security attached to the document:

  • If the document had only a Document Open password, click OK to remove it from the document.
  • If the document had a permissions password, type it in the Enter Password box, and then click OK. Click OK again to confirm the action.

If you are using email it will be located in CWIS at:

Properties>Services>Email>Setup>Defaults

Click the Edit for the Email Options section

Password protection will be at the bottom

Re: Remove "Require Password to Open" default from multipage PDF Scan

Hi smarchione,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please look at the password protection and make sure it is set to disabled. To do this follow these instructions:

  1. From a computer, open an Internet browser window.
  2. Enter the IP address of the printer in the Address field, and then press [Enter] on the keyboard. The CentreWare Internet Services window will be displayed.
  3. Select the Properties tab.
  4. Select Workflow Scanning
  5. Select Default Template
  6. Select the Edit button in the Filing Options box.
  7. Check the Password Protection setting and make sure that nothing is chosen or that disabled is selected.
  8. Make sure to save the settings.

See Picture for example.pdf.JPG

If this does not help please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Thanks,
