Since you didn't bother to mention the paper size, the model of device, whether you use reduce/enlarge, what the original size is set to versus what it is, there is no quick fix.
Most likely someone has set the original size to something other than what is is the feeder. The original could also be borderless and you are losing data to the 4mm margin. But we can't know as you gave nothing to work with
