Re: SNTP not working

Hi TammyL,

like pwlgrzs i've already tried a couple of servers and configurations and also don't get it to work.
It doesn't matter which server is setup only error is shown.
Since pwlgrzs reported the issue six months ago, is there a solution or workaround available?

Re: SNTP not working

Hi TammyL,

I have tried both IP address and hostname, broadcast on and off, it always shows ERROR.

It looks like firmware bug really.

Re: SNTP not working

Hello,

I searched the online knowledge base and found instructions on Configuring SNTP Settings below for you to review.  If you have followed these instructions and are still having an issue I would suggest contacting your local support center.

Worldwide Contact Page: http://xerox.bz/worldw.

Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) synchronizes the internal clocks of computers over a network connection.

  1. From a computer (on the same network as the printer) open a Web browser.
  2. In the Web browser address field, enter the IP address of the printer and then press Enter or Return. The CWIS home page will be displayed.

  3. Click Properties.

Note: Many features in CWIS require an administrator user name and password to access or modify. If prompted to enter Administrator Account login details:
    1. For User Name, enter Admin.
    2. For Password, enter the administrator account password that was set during initial access to CWIS.
    3. Click OK.

  4. Click Connectivity.
  5. Click Protocols.
  6. Click SNTP.
  7. For Protocol, select Enable.
  8. For Name or IP Address, select an option.
  9. Type the appropriately formatted IP address or hostname.
  10. For Enable SNTP Broadcast, select the check box.
  11. Click Apply.

SNTP not working

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

Hello,I have a Xerox B205 device, configured network and set SMTP scanning. All e-mails come with date in 2001 due to printer time not set. I added SNTP server as per attached screenshot but it is in ERROR. DNS is working OK because I also use Scan to Network feature by the local server name.

B205 SNTP.PNG

Mail header shows following:

Date:Sun, 01 JAN 2001 01:01 +0000

That causes mail client to read receviced date in 2001.

Could you please advise what might be wrong?
