Xerox installed last week the latest firmware release for the 7845 and 7835
We have now release : 072.040.124.23401
New problem: lots of time with scans or workflow scans that we get the error "Start is not available"
Only thing we can do is a complete reboot.
Since we are Xerox customer, we have problem after problem, each firmware upgrade is a new problem...
last firmware, problem of "pending job..."
before the addressbook problems and slow working...
Xerox is cheap but you may not calculate the hours of support and problem-solving :(

I would suggest that you review these issues with the local service team manager.
You seem frustrated and the manager wants to help you get good performance on your machine.
This helps his serviceman spend less time, and makes Xerox revenue from a performing machine.
If you are outside the USA you should contact the local support center in your area which you can find here:
Xerox local benelux is already searching for solutions for some months.
If one problems is solved, we have another problem because of bugs in the new firmware releases.
Xerox is just nog stable like they told us...
We just have to wait untill another firmware release, and propably with again new problems.

to fix this proplem
I will ask Xerox technician (Johan Remory) to check if this could be the solution.
it's strange because since last week we have the problem mostly with some scan functions, not with all of them.
Off course, it's still if you click tofast that you have "scan is not ready" but with some one touch buttons you have directly start can not be used or is not ready.
There is a patch for this problem:
they installed a patch on all 7830 and 7845 machines to version :
