Samsung and Sandisk USB 3.1 Flash Drives do not work

Product Name: WorkCentre 7830/7835/7845/7855
Operating System: Not Applicable

Using the Workflow Scanning feature, and scanning to USB Flash Drive...

Saturday: Inserted Sandisk 256Gb USB 3.1 Flash Drive into the Xerox slot. Recognized by Xerox and scanned  documents into it.

Sunday: Inserted Samsung 256Gb USB 3.1 Flash Drive into the Xerox slot. NOT recognized by Xerox, even after repeated attempts. Samsung is recognized by our office and my home computers.
PROBLEM 1: Why was the Samsung not recognized by the Xerox?

Sunday: same Sandisk from yesterday: moved all the scanned files to our server this morning.
Inserted Sandisk and it is STILL recognized by Xerox.
However, we are NOT able to scan to it anymore! The Xerox just says "processing", even when I only scanned in 1 page. The Xerox printed out an error report.
PROBLEM 2: Why is the Xerox not scanning to the Sandisk flash drive on Sunday, when it did on Saturday?
