The new software does seem to change a few things.
1. There was an out of memory popup on the screen during one of the scanning session tests of 50 sheets (it has 1gb memory installed)
2. The scans following the clearing of the popup menu seemed to go through fine, without complaint from the printer. However the scans were never processed by the autostore workflow.
The only solution appears to be resetting the printer after the memory error and which point all the previous jobs print out error sheets saying "job cancelled due to reset".
My question. Is there a setting that I can change on the xerox device to tell it to dump the failed scan so that future scans won't silently fail? Without the ability to see the logs that the printer has it is very hard for me to troubleshoot this issue.
I'd rather not have to educate all the people that work here on "restarting" the printer if they see a popup window mentioning memory issues.
I have a custom solution in my office where I've installed Safecom (for badge access) and Autostore for filing the documents to a netapp filer.
The solution works great on our other xerox scanners (WC7530). It's fast and works every time. The same workflow on the WC5745 fails randomly with vague errors, (transfer failed). There is no consistency to the failures. Resetting the device seems to clear the issues, until it recurs. The loading of the autostore software is slow, and the scans themselves operate at a much slower pace as well.
The WC5745s are running 061.132.222.35200, with the net controller 061.132.35200LL
The WC7350 runs 061.121.222.32600 and it's snappy and works every time.
I have pulled some logs, of course I don't have your pkey so I can't try to fix this myself. At this point I feel the 5745 is a toxic model as it is the only device I have issues with.
