Was you're problem that you were getting 'could not transfer messages to the sending mail server' or 'could not log on to the sending mail server'?
We are getting the first message when using a standard user signed into the MFD (Altalink C8000 series).
Thanks
Keith
I did a scan test again and it still failed. The SMTP server is already smtp.office365.com:587.
I don't know if this will help anyone but I spent 3 hours with the Xerox tech and finally we figured out the copiers can not handle some special characters in passwords. When I took them all out and just used Password as the password, the scans worked every time. Our previous password had some ()#+ in it so one of those characters was breaking it. Hope that helps!
Also we used
smtp.office365.com
Port 587
Start TLS
Multi Factor Auth is not supported
If TLS 1.2 is not an option for you, I would guess you are on an old firmware version. I actually have a network tech from Xerox coming here on Friday to work with me on this issue so whatever happens, I will post how he gets it working.
One problem tho... The 2.1 is not available on my device setting. When I tried to switch to 1.1, the problem persist.
Make sure TLS 1.2 is enabled in encryption
EXACT same problem here. Anybody figure this out?
We are experiencing the same issue on AltaLink C8045. Works one minute and fails the next. Did you ever get this resovled?
I've got several Ricoh's and Canon's using the same mailbox to send with on Office 365, none of which are having trouble so it's got to be somethign with the Xerox's specifically.
Thanks!
Hello mcoomber,
I see no one has responded to this post yet. So, at this point I would recommend contacting your local Xerox Support Department to speak with a Product Specialist for more assistance. Please call 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100
I've got five (5) networked Xerox Altalink C8070. They have been configured to scan to email.
I'm using Exchange Online. This setup has been working for the past 3 years with occasional SMTP Failure.
However for the past week, without any configuration change, SMTP seems to work intermittently. Most jobs are now failing. All other configuration is working fine.
The job fails with the error message: One of more messages were not sent. Device could not transfer messages to the sending mail server (SMTP).
The SMTP Server is: smtp.office365.com:587
In the process of finding a solution I wanted to update the device firmware. I am currently running 100.003.008.05700. I tried upgrading using the following firmwares 101.001.019.20200, 101.002.019.20200, 101.003.019.20200 that can be found from the support download page. However I get upgrade firmware missing error message.
As a short term solution, I wanted to get the users to scan using Workflow Scanning using SMB protocol. However, I have hit a block with the error message: Failed: Cannot write to\\\\servername\shared folder
So I am stuck in limbo land.
Any help is welcome.
Thanks
