When users here scan to a network share, there are alot of .Dat files that come along with the PDF that is produced. Is there a way to prevent these files from appearing? Users continuously complain about this.

Disable the "Job Log" in the Default Scan Template via CentreWare Services. You will also need to disable in the individual templates that were based on the default template.
