Scan to PC "Connection Failed" Add a destination "Connection Failed"

Product Name: Xerox B215 Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

Just purchased 2 days ago and set up to operate wirelessly. Printing from PC works fine, as does Copier, but Scan to PC does not work, just comes up with "Connection Failed" and when I press Add a Destination, it also comes up with "Connection Failed". When I Googled, some suggested configuring with Xerox Easy Printer Manager Googling, but although it appears initially to launch, it fails to launch. It flickers in Processes when checking what's running, but disappears after a fraction of a second. At this point, I thought there might be some confusion between the B210 installation software (my previous printer) and the B215, so I uninstalled both, rebooted and reinstalled just the B215. Same problems: won't Scan to PC, won't Add a Destination, and the Xerox Easy Printer fails to launch. I was surprised to find no formal online support, so must resort to this Forum: any solutions welcome!
