Scan-to-PDF on 3635MFP - problem with Mac OS X / iOS

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I just made the discovery that documents scanned by our 3635MFP (running the latest available firmware) have a compatibility problem with Mac OS X 10.8.2 and the most recent version of iOS (6.1). Page 2 and beyond on PDFs scanned by the device look fine; page 1 is a blank white page. The documents open without incident in Adobe Acrobat Pro, so this likely an interaction with Apple's own PDF parser. It's impossible to tell whether the 3635MFP is generating invalid PDF, or if Apple's parser has a problem--I'm sure Apple will say the former and Xerox will claim the latter.

Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so have you been able to find a workaround?
