Re: Scan to SMB not working with PC hostame in the template of the address book

Typically if the printer is DHCP it works better at dealing with DNS and host names.

Having stated that, newer firmware absolutley *might* fix it.

Re: Scan to SMB not working with PC hostame in the template of the address book

thank you for your answers, very explicit.
but what I do not understand, at some customers (C7020 peer to peer) it works.
Why?
can this be due to the older firmware version?

Re: Scan to SMB not working with PC hostame in the template of the address book

This is the "new normal" - name service in peer-to-peer networks is disappearing fast.  So, you MUST use IP addresses.

For the mobile devices, I would assign an IP address to the mobile MAC addresses in the DHCP server.  Then the scanner can address those mobile devices by IP address.

Re: Scan to SMB not working with PC hostame in the template of the address book

What i know That this machine is not supporting Microsoft networking or NetBios over TCP/IP so scanning by hostname will not work .
So as workaround solution you can access to the router and reserve the IP Address on the device MAC Address for each computer then configure the scan using the IP address ;by this method you will avoid to configure static IP address from the PCs/laptop level .

Scan to SMB not working with PC hostame in the template of the address book

Product Name: VersaLink C7020/C7025/C7030 Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Not Applicable

In some customer networks, on Versalink products, it is impossible to work with a smb scan  in the address book if you enter the host name of the recipient pc.There is a network error.
If we enter the IP address, it works.
I also found that in this case, if we want to scan using network discovery, it finds nothing and incident mark.
This is annoying for mobile PCs
Do you have an idea?
