can you try to scan to the IP instead of dns name?
dont know, but sometimes this solves it with our customers, and dns is also working
be sure to refresh the templates when you change somethng , sometimes the settings are not pushed to the template you scan with
I have nothing further, I work in 2nd level and those settings I listed in conjunction have 100% success rate in my experience, which means there is something else overlooked or you have a Firewall doing something *wonky*.
Your next step is to do a wireshark trace of a scan between the device and server and read it to see what step is failing.
I made the changes you suggested, but i am still getting the same error message. The device already has the latest version of firmware installed.
I tried using the IP address and the hostname of the default repository server, and i tried using port 139 and port 445 with no success.
Is there anyhting else you can suggest?
If server 2008/2012 the user name will likely be user@domain. Check the formatting server-side by right-clicking the folder and going to Sharing > Advanced Sharing > Permissions, the copier user name must be formatted as seen in brackets at the server, it does not matter how it works from a PC or another printer, in this case this is the only acceptable user name format.
Next on the list is to make sure this highlighted entry is not checked in CWIS > Properties > Connectivity > Protocols > IP > DNS
Also, check that the time is not off by more than 3 minutes if Server 2012 CWIS > Properties > General Setup > Date and Time
And lastly, when you create a repository or template, if the port lists 139, it is likely an old firmware that will need to be updated, so if all the above fails, upgrade to the latest firmware and try the scan immediately after.
Hi,
I am trying to setup scan to netwrok location (SMB) on a Xerox workcentre 7545, but keep getting an error "login failed, check username and passwords and or setup.
The network location i am trying to send it to is as follows: f248fsp01\test\jbtest
I have the default repository protocol set to: SMB
Default repository server: f248fsp01 I have also tried using the IP address, i also tried f248fsp01.domainname
I have tried using port 139 and port 445
share: test
Default repository document path: jbtest
For the username is have tried using just the username as well as domainname\username
Regardless of trying all this i am still getting the same error message. I also tried it on a Xerox workcentre 5865, but get same error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
