HI,

Electrical noise can be from a power supply (High Voltage Power Supply or Low...), so I will recommend you (if the machine is under warranty) to have a tech or to claim the warranty.

I assume a fan or Power supply, but I am a software person by all accounts, I am hoping Gabiene sees that post and answers it

Ahah!! Joe you are a legend - this has fixed it thank you so much for your help!  Kudos added!

While I am on, do you have any ideas in relation to my other post: "High pitched electrical whining noise" in the printing forum?

Grrr, Arghhhh!

So, for whatever reason, this device and the Versalink printers simply don't care that when you hook it up to wifi and not to a wired LAN, they still blindly keep the Wired as primary connection, even when they absolutely know it isn't hooked up. <Note that the IP is listed as 0.0.0.0 in screenshot one of your last post>

So.....

EWS > Connectivity > Ethernet (Yeah, Ethernet, because why have it in the Wifi option, repeat Grrr Arghhh!)

1.PNG

Just click Edit and set it to WiFi

So you understand, you can print because the printer has an IP and is on the LAN, your PC can see it because your gateway does. The printer can't see you though, because it doesn't have a gateway on what it believes is its connection to your LAN. These devices can be connected to both Wired and Wireless at the same time, which allows you to connect to 2 separate networks and all can print, but only one can be used for scan

<All Grrr Arghhh!'s used in this post are aimed at myself for forgetting this tidbit and the people who made this particular design decision.>

Hi, thanks.  Oops!  I have corrected that (see below) but problem still persists.  Can you see anything else wrong in my setup? - it is driving me mad!

Hi thanks a lot.  I have updated the DNS address as advised but it is still throwing the same error.  Do you have any other ideas??

Thanks

Yoiu forgot to set your DNS on the printer or you put in the wrong one.

Make the primary DNS be 192.168.0.1 and the alternate can be 8.8.8.8
