Re: Scan to email with gmail error 016-764

Hello Ashish02,

I know we have seen some issues crop up with Google Cloud Print lately, so wondering if this is the same issue you are experiencing.

Due to the end of life of Google Cloud Print on December 31, 2020 no updates or changes are coming to the program so you will need to find a different cloud print application. In the meantime, if you still need to use Google Cloud Print (GCP) here are a couple of tips:

  • Make sure HTTPS is enabled on your printer if you are having trouble registering your printer with GCP
  • Make sure you have registered the printer with GCP
  • Make sure the firmware / software on the printer is up to date with the latest version.  The latest version can be found under the drivers and downloads tab on the support site for your model of printer.

Also, please reference this post for more details.

Thanks,

Scan to email with gmail error 016-764

Product Name: WorkCentre 3045
Operating System: macOS 10.12 - Sierra

Hi everyone,

First time post for me. I have no knowlegde of printers and servers and I have tried my best to learn over the last few days.

Problem: I am trying to set-up Scan to Email on my Xerox 3045NI. I am able to print wirelessly from my Macbook . I followed some tips on google. I have created a new gmail account for my printer. I have tried many different ports, 35, 587, 465, 2525 but I get error code 016-764.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Am I putting in the right settings? I read a few threads here mentioning something about gmail using SSL/TSL and possibly my printer model not having SSL mode on it because its old.

Any help would be greatly appreicated!
