Only General release firmware is on the drivers and downloads pages. You need to go to Xerox.com/security and click on the Software release quick lookup table to find spar software.
Here are the ones you need
That is the newest firmware available on Xerox website for both 36 series and 78 series WorkCentres. is there a more recent firmware available elsewhere?
Since that is the firmware version we are using I will try updating it. Thanks for the tip!
They could google it, or call Xerox and ask.
If it happens to more than one device, and those devices are different models, it near certainly is someone making changes. Or a particular workflow. For instance, the Connectkey firmwares that are 073.xxx.xxx.34540 all have an issue where if you select a template and scan in less than 2 seconds, the template settings may not correctly apply, it can use the default settings and not the actual template settings. But that was fixed in every firmware after that one specific one.
This is occuring on several machines, both 3655 and 7835 workcentres so I would think that it is not a firmware issue. I'm not sure how a user would change the template settings without having admin access.
There is no way to tell it (Whatever device this is with) to randomly change its setting so there are only 2 possibilities
1. Firmware corrupted and needs to be wiped and reloaded
2. Someone is changing the setting because they want PDF format and not realizing they are affecting other users.
We have a program which automatically checks several network folders for TIFF files. If any are found, the program copies them to another location then deletes them from the original location. We have created Scan to templates to save as TIFF files to these locations. These templates seem to work ok for a period of time but will then change file format to PDF, even though the template still indicates it will save as TIFF. The program searching these folders does not recognize PDF's so it appears the folder is empty. Any ideas why they would change to PDF and how to keep the setting at TIFF?
