Hi Alexander,
I believe that this is less an issue of a problem being ignored and it has more to do with the fact that the equipment is working as designed. I searched the service documentation for one of Xerox's most recently released models (PrimeLink C9070) and there is a fault code (027-591) stating that a blank password is not allowed to be used for SMB scanning. If you have a service contract with an authorized Xerox entity there is a way to request a change to things that are working as designed. That is to contact the local servicing entity and ask them to submit a Software Feature Request/Feature Enhancement Request (SFR/FER) to Xerox. At the very least that should result in a response about why the software behavior will not be changed to accomodate this, if it is not accepted for future development.
Hi,
Unfortunately Xerox ignores this problem.
You have to create a password for your user or create another user account (must be with password) and give the rights to that new user to write to the folder where you want to store the scanned images.

I am having this same problem. What was the solution?
Hello,
thanks for advise.
Will you fix the issue with empty password for scan to network?
Best regards,
Alexander
Hello AlexanderKedrov,
I have been in the knowledgebase for your device and it appears that the only scanning steps that do not need a password are scan to email.
Hello,
I'm a home user. One PC with Windows 10, one Xerox B215. B215 is connected thru wired network.
Firmware version is 88.000.60.000.
Scan to Network doesn't work thru SMB if Windows account has no password.
My user account in Windows has no password - it's convenient for me and I have a reason to don't have it.
Can you fix it?
P.s. please don't push to set password - it's up to customer to decide whether to have password or not.
Thanks
Alexander
