Scan to network - incorrect login (SMB)

Operating System: macOS 11 - Big Sur

I have a B205, connected to a local Wi-Fi and a MacBook Air with macOS BigSur (the latest updates for every single device).

Print works and scan works too - through Image Capture app.

But I want to scan to network.

I closed the firewall on the Mac, file sharing is on (smb://mba), I have a folder called "Scan" with my user having the privilege to read&write.

In Internet Services CetreWare:

Properties->Services->Scan to Network - I created a new contact with:

Protocol: SMB

Host name: mba; port: 445

Document path: Scan

Login name and password: Mac user name and password

When I use "Scan to network" on the MFP, after ~1 min I get the message "Job cancelled Incorrect login".

I tested the SMB in Files on my iPhone and I am able to access it.

Any thoughts?

Re: Scan to network - incorrect login (SMB)

Hi Claym,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. In the Scan to Pc article in the online knowledgebase for your printer I found this information:

  • For Macintosh OS 10.15 and above, the driver packet Xerox_B2xx_Series_Print_Scan_Drivers_.dmg must be downloaded, and the scan driver “MAC_ICDM” must be installed.  With this scan driver installed, use the embedded Mac Image Capture application to scan.

Note: Xerox Easy Print Manager is no longer supported for Mac OS 10.15 or above.

If this information does no resolve your issue please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
