Re: Scanned Documents Slow to Appear in User's Network Folder

Hi baronian,

The fact that the job is actually being delivered tells me the device is correctly configured.

the speed the job is being delivered to th folder can be caused by several reasons, some of them being:

  • Device delay to process the job
  • network speed, time for the job to be transfered.

The fisrt one, I would suggest you would time the job process. Start the clock when you hit the green button to scan.

  1. Time for the paper to be taken by the scanner and actually scan. from now on, you can see the job progress on the Job Status setion of the device. Hit the Job Status button and navigate to Jobs in progress
  2. Time the time the job is in "progress" mode
  3. Time the time the job is in "transfering" mode

If you have something to compare with (another printer) would be the best. If not you can post the results on the forum or open a suppport ticket with that info.

Also detail what you actually scanned so we can replicate. The best would be to use a configuration report from the device. That would be a common file.

Scanned Documents Slow to Appear in User's Network Folder

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

We have a Xerox Workcenter 7556 and I have this recurring problem for my users where they use Workflow Scanning, scan to a folder in \Scans\UserName on our server (Windows Server 20008 R2 Standard service pack 1) and the file takes a very long time to appear on the users mapped drive to the network share (Users are using Windows 7)    Any Thoughts on what is causing this and how I might resolve it?
