You could try calling a local authorized service center to see if they would sell you the part and/or a T&M call to replace it for you. I know when our team orders parts, it's typically a whole assembly.
I havent heard back yet on this question of mine.
also this part refers to the whole assembly. But we dont need the whole assembly... its just the scanner that might have gone bad.
Xerox guys.... it would be really helpful if someone could point us in right direction to purchase the part.

I cleaned up the glass and underside of the ADF.
The issue still persists.
Have you tried cleaning the glass and the underside of the document feeder, I have included a solution for cleaning these areas.

recently my scanner started having a malfunction. it has a blind patch of exactly two inches on the scanner. it just doesnt scan a patch of 2 inches and ends up having a black vertical patch. see attached scan.
