I am using macOS Mojave 10.14.6 with my Workcentre 6515 and it does not communicate with the scanner when I try to access the scanner through the Printers & Scanners app from the System Preferences. I get a message that it is waiting for the scanner and does not wake up the scanner. On a second mac using macOS High Sierra 10.13.6, I can get the scanner to operate. I have downloaded and installed all the newest drivers and firmware on the Workcentre 6515 and still cannot get the scanner to respond.
Hi DavidK204,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. If you have loaded the newest drivers from last week and the latest firmware from April 2019 you may need to try a different method of scanning for instance TWAIN. Alternately you can contact your local support centre for additional assistance.
Cheryl,
I have had a Xerox tech out to my location and the latest drivers and firmware have been installed on the Workcentre 6515. It seems this is an issue with Xerox and iOS Mohave since the printer utility works on my other computer using an older OS.
I have a work around for scanning, but not happy with this new machine. I would not recommend this unit to any of my associates.
David
Dear CherylO-Xerox
I'm comming from switzerlerland and I've been working for 2y with 6515 WC Xerox
Since 1y I can't scanning any paper via network. I've installed the newest Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6, the newest
Firmware Xerox 65.42.01 and all drivers like ICA Scanner & Twain Driver DATE: 08.23.19..
So what the hell why doesn't work my scanner. When i'm starting scanning the Application going to open, but after no reaction:
The message is calling: Waiting for scanning..
And I have to say, printing does works very fine. Just scanning is a f........
Please I need a solution asap.
Yours Sincerely
Chris Gessner
Add me to the list of people that cant Scan via the 6515. This was working fine until recently.
Now I get the "Waiting for Scanner" message. I am running Mojave 10.14.6 and all the latest Xerox drivers, firmware, etc.
Can you please get this fixed? My business depends on being able to scan.
PS: The scanner works fine from Win10 machines on the same network
Yes, It is not opening. I have windows 8.1 and I try to run the printer and scanner both. But my 64 bit pc showing an error 0x80248007 I checked all the drivers, everything is fine.
Got same issue here. Latest firmware, Mac os 10.15.6. There is no twain source.
Just received my Xerox 6515DNI today, connected it to my Ethernet network and have downloaded and installed the most current "macOS Print and Scan Driver Installer" to my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro, both running the latest version of Mac OS Mohave (10.14.6).
Going to "System Preference", selecting "Printer & Scanners", selecting WorkCentre 6515, I don't see any mention of scanning; only printer options. Is the scanning software somewhere else? If so, where is it and what is the file name?
It appears to be this is an issue with Xerox and iOS Mohave since the printer utility chips away at my other PC utilizing a more established OS.I have a work around for examining, yet not content with this new machine. I would not prescribe this unit to any of my partners.
Thanks for replying.
Turns out that I did figure out the problem. The Xerox installer installs the printer driver and the printer appears in and is selectable in the Mac's "Printers & Scanners" section of System Preferences, but the printer doesn't have a button for "Scan" to access the Mac's built-in scan functions (also accessible via the Mac App "Image Capture").
In the "Printers & Scanners" section, if you click the "Plus" button as if to install an additional printer, there is a SECOND Xerox printer driver there waiting to be installed. Install that printer driver, select that printer and Voila!, that printer has both Print and Scan buttons right where they are supposed to be.
Not sure why the installer puts in both printer drivers, only makes one immediately visible and that one doesn't have the scanner access button, but there you are.
