Re: Scanning from a Xerox 6515 to a Mac

Jump to solution

Hi, I have had this problem intermittently with Big Sur and now permanently with Monterey. I have forced it to use 2.4GHz wireless band but still no joy. I have updated all the software from Xerox including firmware but still nothing.

Can I set port forwarding to sort this. If so how do I do it. I use an Asus Blue Cave Router. The printer is clearly visible in the Router connected devices

Ok, figured it out.  I had to force my 6515 to use the 2.4GHz wireless band to get it to scan again.  It had defaulted to 5GHz but it will not scan at that setting.  The old router was 2.4GHz only.

I have this exact problem only with macOS Mojave 10.14.6.

I was able to scan with my old Wifi router using the Preview/Image Capture software built into my Mac.  I installed a replacement today and I can print but I cannot scan.  I installed VueScan software but it cannot find the scanner.

I get the same error as the original poster.  Once  in thirty+ attempts, I got it to complete a scan but only once.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and drivers multiple times.  Again, printing works but not scanning and the only change to the configuration is that I installed a new Wifi router to which the printer definitely connects.

When I go back to my old Wifi router, I can scan again.

Hello Pandinus,

You can try un-installing and re-installing the Scan Driver.

Thanks,

Scanning from a Xerox 6515 to a Mac

I have MacOS Catalina (10.15.4), and I installed the drivers from here.

I have the printer connected to the same wireless network as the mac, and I'm able to print with no problems.
However, when I try to scan (e.g, using Image Capture) I get an error message: "No connection could be established with the selected device. Please check your device IP configuration or try again with another device."

Is there something else I need to install/configure in order to be able to scan from my Mac?
