Thank you for your patience.  The macOS 11 Big Sur driver for the WorkCentre 6027 is now available.  Follow the link or navigate to the online support for the WC6027 and select the Drivers & Downloads tab. If you require additional assistance with the driver or scanning please consider contacting your support centre.

But they say to download the driver for Big Sur (for image capture) and it is not there.  THEY NEED TO PUT IT UP!

Well it looks like the photos (screenshots of the Image Capture messages) won't display so here's what they said:

 

For a PDF file:  The file may be damaged, Preview cannot open it

For a JPEG file:  Scanner reported an error.

 

Clearly "Image Capture" is not the solution to this issue!

Thank you very much but please also ask them to spend a few hours simply updating SCAN ASSISTANT to 64 bit and you will make a million Xerox customers happy and have a fine program for Catalina, Big Sur and the future.  No one wants to use the old clunky “Image Capture” program - that’s been around forever, has never really worked, has only the most basic of features…  Essentially worthless and NOT a solution for 2021 and beyond.  Xerox should know that.  And if you do know that then you’re basically telling all your existing customers goodbye…
 
Do you think the world is going back to 32 bit?  Are you going to stop upgrading all your programs?  Are you going to no longer provide support programs like SCAN ASSISTANT with new Xerox multi-function printers?  If not please let the world know so that we can start seeking-out alternative printing and scanning equipment for ourselves, our companies and governments.

OK so within a few hours Xerox replied and it is the same tired "Use Mac's Image Capture" program.  Here's the messages (Xerox, my reply, Xerox's reply and my final reply just now): (Had to do this in 2 posts)

Hello Stephen,

I received your request below for a Workcentre 3225 Scan Assistant utility that supports the Big Sur OS.  Unfortunately, the Scan Assistant does not support Mac OS 10.15 and higher.  We do have a Big Sur supported print and scan driver package available on support.xerox.com at this link.  You will be able to scan using Mac’s Image Capture if you have this scan driver installed.  This knowledge article and related solution might be of help to you.

First - thank you for your fast reply!
 
Many many people, including myself have tried to use the “scan driver package” with Mac’s Image Capture and it just does not work at all.  You can’t scan with it— have you tried it? 
 
Try this:  Put a 1 page document on the WC3225 (flatbed scan).  Choose to scan as a PDF.  Then go look for the scan results and here’s what you get:
 
 
OK so now try to scan as a JPEG.  Here’s the result:
 
 
IT JUST DOES NOT WORK!  If you can get it to work then please eMail me instructions on exactly what you did to get it to work.
 
BUT Image Capture IS SO OUTDATED and CLUNKY!  Your Scan Assistant program is SUPER!  Why won’t you support it?  There are hundreds, no THOUSANDS of people on the www including on Mac sites and your own Xerox site who are openly saying that they will never purchase another XEROX product again because XEROX is not supporting their products!  I’ll be in that same category myself pretty soon if Xerox does not do something as simple as re-write the current SCAN ASSISTANT App for 64 bit for Mac.

I just filed my complaint and here it is:

Hello! We really need a 64 bit UpDate for the wonderful SCAN ASSISTANT program for Mac for WC3225 and other printers. Since Sept 2019 Mac Catalina and now macOS 11.x Big Sur cannot run 32 bit apps - and SCAN ASSISTANT is still only 32 bit. Your Indicating sheet says  https://www.office.xerox.com/latest/SFTDS-07U.pdf?_ga=2.242115650.1322194868.1614861476-990457354.16...  that drivers for macOS Big Sur are available and can be downloaded from www.xerox.com/drivers , but driver website does not list it.

PLEASE upgrade your excellent SCAN ASSISTANT so that I can continue to use it on my Mac. Many, many people have written to XEROX about this. I've been calling and eMailing for over a year now. Looking forward to the 64 bit Mac version of SCAN ASSISTANT. Thank you. Stephen Schulte on Thursday 4 March 2021

Just spoke with support.  Everyone file a complaint here:

But when I tried to find drivers they are still missing for Big Sur
