Scanning problem 3300MFP

Product Name: Phaser 3300MFP
Operating System: Windows 10

I cannot initiate scanning by pressing the green Start button on the 3300MFP printer/scanner.  The only way for me to initiate scanning it to use the Windows Fax and Scan utility on my PC. 

For example, I put the document I want to scan in the feeder.  I choose Scan on the 3300.  It says "Ready to Scan".  In the little display I choose "Scan to Application" and then choose "My Documents".  OK, everything seems kosher at this point so I hit the green Start button.  Nothing happens.  The only change is that it no longer says scan to My Documents, instead it reverts back to "Ready to Scan" and has USB as the destination.

So now I go back to PC and get the "Windows Fax and Scan" utility going.  I click "New Scan" in upper left, yada yada yada, and it will scan no problem. However, I want to be able to scan from the scanner itself.  I dont want to have to do a bunch of clicking on the PC.

Any ideas ??????????????
