Re: Scans failing beginning on 01/09/2019 to Win7 Server 2008 - KB4480970

Well, the fix worked on the one workstation that was not working and now the other workstations not working.  Once the firmware is updated from one workstation, does anything need to be done on others?  Update from each?  When I attempt to install firm upware from another workstation, there is a message that ini cannot be found although it is in the installation folder.  I have run the MS fix on all workstations.

Re: Scans failing beginning on 01/09/2019 to Win7 Server 2008 - KB4480970

Update #

Hi Joe

Microsoft released KB4487345  to fix this issue

Description of the update for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2: January 11, 2019

This update resolves the issue where local users who are part of the local “Administrators“ group may not be able to remotely access shares on Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 machines after installing the January 8th, 2019 security updates. This does not affect domain accounts in the local "Administrators" group.

you absloutely right ; this is MS issue not xerox  since i faced the same issue on Thursday with one of our customer machine then i found that this patch already installed on the same day they logged the call

Scans failing beginning on 01/09/2019 to Win7 Server 2008 - KB4480970

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
Operating System: Windows 7

This is not a Xerox issue. It is an MS issue.

It is happening because of KB4480970.

Xerox will not be addressing this, the issue is on the MS side only, other PC's are also failing to connect to those same shares. There are multiple workarounds to choose from.

1.in a Command Prompt window with administrator rights on the host computer:

reg add HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\system /v LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

Reboot

2.

 3. Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > View Installed Updates and removing KB4480970

There is no need to call Xerox for support, it isn't them that caused it, it isn't them that needs to fix it, and it isn't them that needs to apply these changes to your computers.

Some of these options don't work in all scenarios, if one fails, try another.
