Our issue was never resolved. We ended up getting rid of the Xerox and replaced it with a Canon.

Good luck! I believe they also changed out our motherboard, and I know they updated the firmware, with no luck. Hopefully the new firmware will address this.
Hi - I was out of the office for 2 weeks.
Motherboard was changed on both machines. Problem was fixed for about 2 weeks and suddenly re-appeared.
Xerox is saying now to wait until the realease of the new firmware, beginning of December... let's see.
No solution has been found. We have given up and are getting rid of the Xerox for a Canon.

I'm a Xerox Certified tech with an ASP and I am fighting this very problem with an 8170 at a customer site. I've reached out to support but am getting nowhere. Wondering if the techs you are working with have resolved the issue, or are willing to share what they have done thus far. I'm more than happy to compare notes.
2 Xerox technicians will come to have another look next monday. I'ill keep you updated if they find anything.
The technicians have run out of things to try. I keep requesting a replacement copier, but no response. They wanted to give us a "loaner," but I refused. Anyone higher up at Xerox I can contact?
That is the same model we have. It is happening less frequently now, but still happening. Very frustrating.
