AltaLink® C8000 Series is a very powerful printer. You can not only print but also send faxes.You should install Installing the Printer before you send fax

Step 1: You must get yourself a phone cord with connectors, that have two wire leads.

Step 2: Connect the cord to the wall jack. Make sure the other part of the jack has access to a 1-line printer end.

Step 3: For the answering machine option, the connecting end from the machine should fit the 2-EXT-end for the printer rear.

Step 4: Your next steps include:

Setting-up your printer with the fax-header, answering mode, ring-type to answer, and the dial type.

 Run a fax test to ensure that the machine is producing the right results.
