Re: Transporting WorkCentre 7120 by car

Thanks for the reply.

I've rented a van for the trip and will make sure to remove the consumables before moving the unit around.

Better safe than sorry... =)

Kind regards,

Roby

Can I safely/easily 'break' the machine in 2 parts and transport those side by side? (the manual does not imply this but then again it does not seem like a common thing to do)

It is a solid unit, you can't remove the tray portion.

Can I safely put the machine on its side and transport it like that? (It's only half an hour drive along perfect roads)

You cannot, even with the toners removed there is still toner in the hopper, and it will go absolutely everywhere if you tip it.

  • Should I take out the ink cartridges first and/or other things when opting for this?
  • Yes, the toner needs to be removed from it during transport

Borrow or rent a truck/van is your best bet.

Transporting WorkCentre 7120 by car

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi all,

I've got to move a WorkCentre 7120 from one place to another. The trouble is that my car (C4 Grand Picasso) simply does not have the head-room to store the machine upright. (max 85 cm)

  • Can I safely/easily 'break' the machine in 2 parts and transport those side by side? (the manual does not imply this but then again it does not seem like a common thing to do)
  • Can I safely put the machine on its side and transport it like that? (It's only half an hour drive along perfect roads)
    • Should I take out the ink cartridges first and/or other things when opting for this?

Or should I simply rent a van ? (I'd rather avoid the extra cost, but breaking the machine is bound to cost me more over time)

Thanks for any suggestions,

Roby
