Re: Twain issues / Different UI / Can't scan to application

I've been in contact with them. They agree the 7.5.91.0 will work. But they say they cannot locate it to send it to me. Funny, it was on their web site 10 days ago. I really regret buying these B235 printers......

Hi JasGot,

Sounds like you have tried everything already, so it would be an escalation to support: 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100

Twain issues / Different UI / Can't scan to application

Product Name: Xerox B235 Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

We have two B235 MFPs. One was installed with the Twain Driver 7.5.92.0 and the other with with 7.5.91.0 release. Don't know why. When you run the installer, it downloads from Xerox in the background. You have no control over what it is downloading and installing.

The computers are identical. The MFPs are the same model, purchased at the same time.

Support at the third party app suggested a re-image of the computer, so we did that. It did not help.

The scanner works just fine in Windows, but in ANY other app, we get errors and cannot complete a scan to an app.

At this time, the only difference we can find is the twain/Xerox WIA USB driver. On the working computer it is 7.5.91.0, and on the non-working womputer it is 7.5.92.0 Xerox will not provide us with the 7.5.91.0 driver.

At the time of scanning, if we click Preferences, we get two different user interfaces.

The one that works shows "Scan using Xerox WIA USB" at the top, the one that doesn't work shows the standard Windows properties window.

I'm rather certain it is the driver that is our issue. I have a hunch that without the Xerox WIA USB driver, the scanner is creating tif files rather than PDF files. This would explain the errors in the third party apps.

Is there something I am missing about how to make the scanning use the Xerox WIA USB interface/driver?

Is there a way to get the 7.5.91.0 driver?

Thanks.
