Good morning,
I was contracted to figure out why this Xerox 3635 multi function printer will not scan to a computer. This computer is a member of a workgroup, not a domain. From a different computer on the same network, I am able to browse to the shared folder and add/remove files.
I can ping the printer from any computer on the network and print to it as well.
I then went to the scanner page which I have set to https://192.168.1.100 and went to the Network Scanning Setup. From there, I clicked the file distribution and then setup. I entered the following settings in various attempts to figure this out without success:
Friendly Name: Scans
Protocol: SMB
IP Address 192.168.1.6:139 (This is the IP of the computer we're scanning to)
Share: scans
Document Path: //BWI/scans
Login Name: WORKGROUP/user
Password: password
Does Xerox offer some form of software that I can interface with the printer with? Something that will allow me to initiate scans from the computer? Many printers I use at work I am able to connect to a file server and actually browse the file server from the LCD.
Can anyone help me narrow this down please?
Hi!
Does the problem only occur on this win 8.1 computer?
Best Regards
Kimzi
