I have found after working with Xerox level 2 support that the printers that have the option for STARTTLS will work with G-Suite if the setting for Less Secure Apps is set to allow
Once this is allowed then the SMTP.GMAIL.COM server can be used on port 587 with SMTP AUTH on STARTTLS encryption protocol. Hope this helps a few people
Hi,
I was using Mozilla Firefox, I tried using Internet Explorer and everything went smooth. I can finally send emails!
Thanks, I went crazy for the last month looking for a solutions and I finally found the right one thanks to you!
Thank you so much, have a nice day!
Try another web browser. Most Xerox devices don't play well with Chrome.
Hi,
thanks so much, I didn't know that!
Anyway, I am trying to setup the SMTP2GO service on the Xerox, but it looks like the printer doesn't accept the SMTP authentication. When I set the radio button on the SMTP authentication, as soon as I click on "Apply" it gets back to the "No" radio button.
Should I open a new thread or you can help me in this on?
Thanks again for your help and your time. Have a nice day!
You can't, SHA-2 is a requirement for Gmail and Office365 as of January, this model doesn't support it at all, so it is impossible to work with Gmail fully, or directly.
You can send from a gmail account to another gmail hosted account via the APSMX server, but not to any address that is not hoisted by gmail ,Godaddy, yahoo, MSN etc etc. But you would be better off using a relay like SMTP2Go.
Xerox/FujiXerox development has no intention of updating the machine to support SHA-2
Greetings from Italy!
I have a Xerox WC7120 and I'm trying to setup the scan to email function. I tried a lot of guides found on the Internet (both Xerox Support websites and other blogs) but I still haven't found the solution.
The sender email is "senderemail@gmail.com", the receiver email is "receiveremail@hotmail.it". I tried every kind of protection (even plan) using 465, 587 and 25 ports, so I think that maybe I setup something wrong.
This is what I did until now: factory reset (Initialize NVM), wrote DNS (I first tried my ISP DNS, then Google ones) and setup "SMTP Server" and "Email Settings". You can see both configurations in the attached pictures.
The FW version installed is 71.24.03, the last one I could find.
Thanks in advance!
