We have the same problem with Xerox Versalink C405.
We can scan to a smb folder when using Scan to > Contacts > [select contact].
I receive an error when using Scan to > Network > [starts scanning for SMB share]
It says: "Unexpected communications error. Cannot browse at this time. Check the network connection"
The smb folders are on a Synology NAS with minimum SMB2 protocol. Enabling SMB1 and/or NTLMv1 did not make a difference (luckily).
So where does this error come from?
Okay, I realized the mistake in configuring the SMB contact, I used the printer's ip instead of the ip\hostname of the computer with the share.
Still the problem with Scan To > Network ending in error Unexpected communications error. Cannot browse at this time has not been solved.
Using our B405, but we are unable to scan to any of the computers on the network.
Scan To > Network ends in error Unexpected communications error. Cannot browse at this time.
Scan To > Contacts, was configured following the instruction posted many times on the forum, but ends in Completed with an Error (018-755): Server connection error in SMB.
IP/Address:port 192.168.1.107:445 (The IP of my printer in the local network and the default smb port)
Share ScanDoc (The folder I shared via SMB on the PC)
Login Name PC1 (The username I use to access the PC, which is runing Windows 10 64bit)
Password *** (The password I use to access the PC, which is runing Windows 10 64bit)
We are using Windows 10 64bit, have administrative access to both the computers and the printer. The printer is running the latest firmware version 38.51.1.
We are able to print to the B405 with no problem, as well as access the printer's Internet Services at the ip address 192.168.1.107.
Solutions are welcome.
