Re: VL C405 Scan to Desktop App Setup

I try use this app with a Versalink B405 but it doesn't work. I received the same error message that the other user.  I am attaching the picture with error. (I undertstand that twain is enabled in the device because Xerox Mobile Link work).

Please, I need the Scan to PC working in our customer.

Re: VL C405 Scan to Desktop App Setup

USB scan driver

TWAIN/WIA network driver

If you are talking about the Smart Start, it relies on your setup, when it doesn't find your printer, you simply type it in manually (In my case, the Xerox LAN is pretty big, so it finds 2 that are used for more personal use, when I type in an address specific to a particular printer, it inevitably finds every supported device with a close IP, which tends to be lots, because they are used by support teams, in lab scenarios, with anywhere from 50-100 test devices)

That will then install the print driver and the scan driver, you will likely get a security prompt for the scan driver though

Re: VL C405 Scan to Desktop App Setup

Any idea how to setup the scan profiles?  I have a new C405 and am just trying to get scan to pc to work but getting the 'no scan profile' message.  I have no idea what a scan profile is or how to set one up.  I've configured smb scanning to a network share and my workstation, that was relatively simple.  But some folks want/need to be able to scan directly to a web application and I can't find any documentation on how to even start setting that up.  The xerox scan utililty, when I try to setup the scanner says...no compatible scanner found.  This really should be easy.

Re: VL C405 Scan to Desktop App Setup

Thank you. I started looking at this as a potentially better option than using the App. Still seem to be having some struggles getting the Scan To feature to work to a share on the computer. But, I think what I'll do since I am not working from a domain is simply use the Windows App that is compatiable with the printer. That seems to work just fine. I wanted to be able to do everything from the control panel on the printer, but for now I'll continue to use the App and then revisit this topic if it becomes a problem.

I appreicate your help.

If pdf is an option it can do, it will be here via EWS > Apps > Scan To > File Format

Re: VL C405 Scan to Desktop App Setup

Good Morning -

Just a quick follow up...

I got to the office this morning and low and behold, there are now some scan profiles on the machine. Not sure what changed, except maybe it took some time to sync with the laptop.

In any case, I am still trying to solve the issue of changing the default document type to PDF.

There are some options in the scanner properties, but they are all image files or XPS document.

Anyone with experince using the App been able to add the PDF file type?

Thank you.

VL C405 Scan to Desktop App Setup

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Greetings -

I recently purchase the VL C405N and for the most part things are going well. But, stuggling to get the App for Scan to Desktop to work.

I've tired searching this formum as well as found the short video on the Xerox You Tube channel. All things appear to be setup according to the video. However, I am getting an error that "No Scan Profiles are Available." I can't seem to find the answer to this.

A bit of back store, there was a point in the beginning that there were profiles, but after I applied the latest firmware update, there nothing there now.

The reason I applied the firmware update was that I was trying to solve a problem of not being able to set the defaul file type to PDF. Thinking that maybe the lastest update would solve that.

So once I figure out the scan profiles issue, then the second part of the question would be to set the default document type to PDF.

Thank you all for your advice.

Jason
