You are quite right.
You can use the preview option to scan more than 60 sheets, but it seems it must be the same size and orientation etc, and you cannot mix in pages scanned from the platen.
The build job feature on the larger format AltaLink allows you to change the original type / orientation / etc and allows scanning from the glass and the ADF mixed and matched in the same job.
I agree with the sentiment here, there really should be a build job feature on the VersaLink platform.
I have a VersaLink C7025 and if I start the work from DADF I can not get it from the plate.
I found out that if you use the Preview option job, It not only gives you a preview of the pages you have scanned, but the job stays active and paused after the ADF finishes pulling pages through. You can use that mode to then put something on the glass, or another stack of documents in the feeder.
Have a look at it and if you can't figure it out, post here, I will try to make some time and put a step by step together.
Is it possible to contact the software developers to correct this limitation?
Is a very useful function on the 7120/7220 why remove it on a new product?
I'm sure that at the software level it will be possible to do something.
Thank you
Filippo
AltaLink works like the other products, it has complete build job functionality and vastly more options. Yes, you can easily switch mid job from ADF to glass.
Beautiful...
AltaLink family same problem?
Is clear is not hardware problem.
Thank You for answer, Joe
The entire VersaLink family behaves that way so i assume it is intentional, but I have no idea why since it cannot be related to hardware limitations.
Hi,
How I can combine ADF and glass scan in same doc, using preview function. Keep asking me to put doc's in ADF (if I start from ADF) or glass (if I start from glass). Try to scan with preview from adf + glass.
All Xerox devices that we use before (7120/CQ92xx/WC5325/WC58xx) have scanned combined doc's (ADF + glass) whitout problems.
Thank you,
Amadeus

Same problem on B7025 (coworker confirmed).
Thank you yet again Joe!
Chris.
Look for the word Preview (I think at the upper right of the scan screen)
If you push that it will feed the document and show it on screen when done, at which point you can hit the + at the end of the doc and it will feed the new pages in the adf, you can keep doing this as long as needed then touch scan and it will send it all together.
