2.

  1. Open the Terminal app, which is in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder.
  2. Type sudo /usr/libexec/configureLocalKDCand press Return.
  3. Enter your administrator password and press Return.
  4. Quit the Terminal app.

This worked after all the other settings you mentioned before!

Thank you!

No way!

Updated to latest firmware, set IP instead of HostName, checked date and time but still same error.

I even tried to connect directly Mac and C405 with no success... Maybe I'm missing an other setting?

018-762 is an SMB timeout, a few things can cause that, so I will cover a few fixes and you can do them all.

1. Switch from Hostname to IPv4 address of the Mac to test if it is a DNS issue

2. Update the printer firmware

3. Set the correct time on the printer. (Needs to be within 3 minutes of local time)

This test worked on both with both MFP's on the latest firmware with these exact settings here.

Versalink C405 - High Sierra SMB scan problem

Jump to solution
Product Name: VersaLink C405 Color Multifunction Printer

Hi,

I know that with recent updates FTP scan with High Sierra is not possible anymore.

So we are trying to use SMB instead as know it is working. We succesfully use SMB scan with High Sierra and a WorkCentre 6605 by simply sharing a folder within MAC OS using port 445 but when we try to use it with a VLC405 it doesn't work giving error  018-762.

What does it mean? Are they using different SMB versions?

Thank you
