Re: WC 6515 connectivity and scan issues

The Wireless receiver is low power, it is not nearly as strong as a laptop is, so a weak signal is weaker to it than it is to other devices.

Since it is a hotel, make certain it is on the real network and not a Guest network, they don't work for printers for obvious reasons.

If you can, put the printer right next to a router and set it up (Eliminates the weak signal and proves you did not mess up the set up)

Then move it farther and farther away to test it's limits in range (It might work at a good distance sine it already knows the settings at that point)

Failing that you would need to switch to a repeater/bridge to "bridge" your WiFi to a router and plug into it.

WC 6515 connectivity and scan issues

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Good Morning,

we've recently bought a Workcentre 6515 DNI MFP and i'm trying since 4 days to configure it form our small office without any result.

The problem lie on MFP connectivity. Any way i tryied to connect the MFP via wi-fi was unsuccesful, so i tryied to use other solutions, but nothing good happened.

I try to be more specific:

The office is far from the router and i can't connect the MFP to the network via ethernet, so the best solution would be connect it to wi-fi, but when i select and i insert the password the connection is refused due to timeout (the signal is strong, any issue with other device).

this fact happens for every one of the multiple wi-fi network of our hotel (is the office of an hotel). But the printer does not have any problem to connect for exemple to my iphone mobile hotspot, so i think there's no issue related to wifi hardware and must be something of the net configuration or on the printer.

the only way i succeded to assign an Ip address to the MFP was by connecting directly to the notebook via ethernet cable and sharing my connection bridging wi-fi and ethernet. But in this case the printer is obviously detected by my pc but any pc see the MPF and the MFP does not see any shared folder on the network and when i try to browse the SMP i get an unexpected error. Anyway, when it was connected (pc and mfp) to my mobile hotspot the mfp is not detected by pc and vice versa.

I also tried to connect the printer to an isolated router with only pc and mfp connected, with no internet, but the SMP still doesn't work.

I tried other solutions but I can not write four days of attempts so i wrote only the most importants. this is a very frustrating situation, anyone has any idea how to solve?
