Ok ... I found Express Scan Manager: just allows to decide where the scanned document should go.
But if I try to scan something, I get a error message:

"Erreur de temporisation fax 017-988" [using the printer in French, I guess the fault code text as an equivalent en English].

I have just clicked on the link " solutions for the fault code 017-988" on this forum. Might be a USB related issue?

Hi Xerox Team,

 

I had not seen your response (already a year ago ...) I tried your suggestions: none of them have worked so far. The USB port's configuration was ok, my drivers are up to date.

I still can't scan anything :-( I don't know what else can be done.

 

I called Xerox Support in France: they said they would not help me because the warranty protection is over (I bought the printer in 2012) and I don't have any kind of "office warranty". Not really helpful...

 

The manual says I should use "Express Scan Manager", but I can't find this software. Do you know how I could get it? Is this software only for PC (I'm a Mac user)?

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please take a look at this solution for scanning using USB. Also make sure that you have the USB port set up properly.  If these solutions do not help please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

WC 6605 - "Failed to scan" via USB

Hi there,

 

I'm finally seraching for help on this particular issue, after hours of researching a solution...

 

We have 2 WC 6605 at home ; I have to use mine with the USB cable. I can print everything... but cannot scan anything!

 

When connected to my MacBook Air (running under Yosemite, OSX 10.10.3), this is what happens: if I do Scan to>PC and press the green button, I get almost immediatly the "failed to scan" message on my computer. Cannot scan a single page.

 

When connected to my iMac (same system running), I'm usually able to scan one page, always in B&W, even if quadrichromy has been selected.

 

This is driving me crazy... any suggestions?
